Cherishing our feelings

As I reflect on when I was growing up, I somehow got the idea that emotions were something to hide and not talk about. As I raise my children, I know I have more to learn and they have made me more self aware! We need to let them know that feeling different emotions are normal and what matters is how we manage those feelings, such as anger. I’ve become more interested in managing emotions in children and jotted down these few strategies in how we can her them to put their feelings in perspective, and to then learn to regulate them. Journaling is also another way to help them look at how they are feeling as well as how others.

I feel that if our children can learn how to be aware of how they are feeling, they can manage life situations more quickly because it brings better awareness to their emotions. I’m still looking into this especially being a mum.
